The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) is delighted to announce the line-up for this year’s Conference & AGM, sponsored by The Camping and Caravanning Club. Taking place at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate on 16 and 17 March 2016, the event will see over 200 delegates gather together for two days of inspirational speakers, workshops, outdoor activities, and a series of networking opportunities, including the OIA’s annual gala dinner on Wednesday evening, during which the winners of the new UK Outdoor Industry Awards will be announced.

At the start of the two day event on Wednesday afternoon, delegates will have the opportunity to participate in one of four outdoor group activities. All of the activities offer a fantastic networking opportunity for delegates to catch up with existing contacts and make new ones in a fun, action-packed environment.

Delegates that would prefer to stay indoors on the Wednesday afternoon will have the option of dropping in to view a selection of the best films from last year’s Kendal Mountain Film Festival, or attend a workshop entitled Challenges in Business by business service provider, Croner, covering employment legislation policy and contracts. Both of these workshops will be repeated on Thursday afternoon.

At 5pm on Wednesday, delegates will gather together at the Majestic Hotel for opening speeches by OIA CEO Andrew Denton, and OIA Chairman Stephen Newlands (AMG Group), followed by a presentation from The Camping and Caravanning Club and the first of three keynote speakers, climber and International Ambassador for Diabetes, Jerry Gore.

Following networking drinks in the Lounge Bar, the OIA’s annual gala dinner will then take place, during which the winners of the new UK Outdoor Industry Awards will be announced.

Andrew Denton will begin the day two proceedings by presenting the OIA’s Annual Review, which will be followed by the second keynote speaker, Sport England CEO, Jennie Price.

The third keynote speaker, Deuter Brand Ambassador, Bernd Kullmann, will then take to the stage to deliver an insightful presentation about his mountaineering experiences and how he played a strategic role in developing the Deuter brand.
