Adidas moves into non-league

Global sportswear giant signs three-year kit deal with non-league Forest Green Rovers

Forest Green Rovers have signed a three-year kit deal with Adidas, becoming the sportswear giant’s first foray into non-league football.

Adidas has kit deals with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid, and now has a deal with the Blue Square Bet Premier League outfit.

Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince said: “We’re chuffed to have Adidas as our new kit sponsor and the fact that this is its first kit deal outside of the football league says something of the standing of Forest Green Rovers and the progress we’re making.

“The team will play in the traditional black-and-white stripes at home and will use the new ‘electricity’ kit for away games, with a third all red strip also available to them.”

Manager Dave Hockaday said: “We are delighted to have joined forces with Adidas, who are renowned for the design and quality of its sportswear.

“We see it as a real coup to be working with such a leading worldwide brand, which reflects the strides we, as a club, are making on and off the field.”
