BMB builds sportswear offering through acquisition

Orion teamwearBlue Max Banner (BMB) has acquired high performance, bespoke sportswear business

Orion Teamwear. The acquisition will enable BMB to offer a new sportswear option in the form of ‘Teamwear Kit Design, in either cut and sewn or sublimated products.

Nigel Plenderleith, BMB’s chief executive comments on the new addition: “Orion is a well-established brand not just in the schoolwear market but at a professional level too and comes with a strong customer base.  Being able to offer sublimation, teamwear and stock supported product gives Blue Max Banner the ability to compete with the sportswear specialists. Our focus will be to keep the creativity associated with the Orion brand and to add our excellent service and delivery capabilities in Trowbridge to  bring delivery times and customer service levels to those we currently achieve across the rest of our business.”

In other news, BMB has appointed Laura Thomas as group sales and marketing director with immediate effect. Laura has a long-standing and distinguished career in the sales and marketing of sportswear, having worked as a group marketing director/deputy managing director for Kukri Sports. She is also an ex-International Netball player.

According to BMB, Laura’s appointment, together with the acquisition of the Orion Teamwear brand, is evidence of the company’s commitment to create a strong, competitive and well-designed sportswear brand with an operational performance to match.
