Gore launches new product concepts at ispo 09

W.L. Gore & Associates has exciting launches to announce at ispo winter 2009. They intend to showcase two major product innovations and launch a completely new product category for the snowsports and outdoors industries.

Gore X-TRAFIT Technology combines performance and fit

Recently, Gore announced a strategic partnership with Reusch for the development of innovative, highly functional gloves to meet the demands of ski-racers. The Gore X-TRAFIT Technology, which Reusch is using, is now being offered more extensively through the snowsports market to meet consumers’ demand for optimal fit, high tactility and 100% protection against adverse weather.

One new innovation that has enabled Gore to achieve this unique combination is a new method of attaching the membrane and lining to one another. An additional revolutionary feature is a newly designed “grip tape” that is used between the fingers and on the palm to prevent movement of the individual layers improving grip and feel.

Gore Comfort Mapping

Four years since the launch of the first Gore Comfort Mapping Technology, the fabric specialists are launching a new generation of its market-leading technology. This new generation is set to extend the opportunities for designers and garment manufacturers to design significantly lighter, warmer and highly functional GORE-TEX garments for winter.

A new lamination technique allows designers more freedom, which means that the needs of the various climatic zones of the body can be addressed more specifically and more efficiently. By enabling manufacturers to use may different types of laminate in one garment, breathability, comfort, heat regulation and/or fit can be applied where it really makes a difference.

WINDSTOPPER Soft Shell Trousers

The functional specialists are now applying their extensive technical know-how to the trouser segment. WINDSTOPPER Soft Shell trousers fill a gap in the market for highly versatile and highly functional outdoors trousers. They are completely windproof and protect the wearer’s body from the chilling effects of the wind, but moreover, WINDSTOPPER Soft Shell laminates are also extremely water repellent therefore offering effective protection in light rain and snow.

Visitors to the stand will be able to see concept garments showcasing these launches from many leading brands including Berghaus, Craghoppers, Haglöfs, Mountain Equipment, The North Face, Sprayway and Tog 24.
