Premier League glory for Gary Anderson

The Team Unicorn star, also the current World Champion, toppled Michael van Gerwen 11-7 in the final to win the Premier League for a second time on a dramatic night at the O2.

The Scot survived three match darts in the deciding leg of an epic semi-final against Dave Chisnall, but was just too good for Van Gerwen in the final.

“It is a great feeling,” he said. “I know I rode my luck in the semi-finals but always felt comfortable in the final. It’s been a hard few weeks but I always felt that if I turned up then I could win.”

Gary Johnson

“It’s been a magical few months. To win the World Championship after the Players Championship victory was the pinnacle of my career. But to back up and win the Premier League again means a heck of a lot!”

Unicorn Managing Director Edward Lowy said: “It is an awesome achievement for Gary to be both World Champion and Premier League Champion and a great privilege for us that he chooses to play with Unicorn Darts.”
