Should more cash be reserved for grassroots sport?

Special report on legacy of London 2012 Olympic Games to broadcast on Sky Sports News tonight at 1930hrs

A special report on the impact of the London 2012 Olympic Games on grassroots sport will be shown tonight (June 20) on Sky Sports News.

The ‘Legacy Games’ report will focus on whether amateur clubs are receiving any funding to ensure a sustainable legacy from the Games.

A preview of the show reads: “While organisers of London 2012 have ring fenced huge funds to work with, grassroots sport is struggling to pay its way in a climate of funding cuts.

“Amateur sports clubs up and down the country are facing closure, so how much of that giant pile of cash is committed to the legacy? Not, it appears, so much as a penny.”

The report will broadcast on Sky Sports News tonight at 1930hrs. Sky Sports News is available on Sky channel 405. Rewatch it here.
