Spalding has announced a new partnership with England Basketball to become the Official Ball Supplier of the English Basketball League (EBL). This long-term commitment begins at the start of the 2014-15 season and will run for a period of three years.
The agreement will see all clubs playing within the EBL utilising Spalding balls for league competition.
Paul Sherratt, the Spalding country manager for UK and Ireland, commented: “We are delighted in announcing another step towards increased brand penetration within the UK basketball marketplace for Spalding and for the EBL to join our extensive roster of leagues around the globe playing with Spalding.
“The great work England Basketball is doing in enabling more people to be able to play the sport aligns with our aims at Spalding to ensure a continued growth of basketball in the UK, and is something we look forward to working with them on to help more people get on court.”
Alongside Spalding, RJM Sports, of Falkirk, will be servicing the agreement. They will operate as the official fulfilment partner between Spalding and all the EBL teams.
England Basketball chief executive, Huw Morgan, said: “This partnership is another great step forward for England Basketball in working with likeminded organisations to proliferate the growth of the game. Spalding’s strong brand and extensive reach within basketball will allow us to connect with a wider playing audience, and will provide a more effective service to our member clubs playing within the EBL.
“We are pleased to be working with such a prestigious brand as Spalding and look forward to a fruitful partnership in the years to come.”
