Stuart Canvas buys JMS Cricket

Ground cover manufacturer buys cricket equipment manufacturer to increase product range and target larger section of cricket market

Sports ground cover manufacturer Stuart Canvas has bought JMS Cricket, a manufacturer of a range of cricketing equipment, in order to grow its product set and target a larger market.

JMS Cricket manufactures mobile covers, mobile cricket nets, pitch protectors, slip catching cradles, artificial wickets and field equipment.

Both businesses will continue to trade under their existing names, but Stuart Canvas’ Warrington site will become the principal manufacturing site.

Stuart Canvas chief executive Ed Stoddart said: “JMS Cricket is a great strategic fit for the business and allows us to capture and serve even more of the cricket market.

“Both companies have good reputations in the cricket world and will continue to provide complimentary and yet quite different offers to customers.”

JMS Cricket founder Jonathan Smith said: “We very much look forward to providing a one-stop shop for the modern-day groundsman.”
