The Mako from Mitre is being re-launched in its footwear range and has, says the company, been snapped up by professionals across the board.

Offering a wider and deeper fit around the foot, the Mako has been developed specifically to accommodate a rugby player's build.Made from full grain leather this boot features a side framework attached to the lacing system, providing additional lateral support. It also benefits from advantage of FST (Foot Stability Traction).

The Mako has been tried and tested in all conditions and has been formulated to combat the constant injuries sustained by rugby players wearing football boots. There are two different sole units to choose from, including the new 'Speed Stud' option.

Saracens' Prop Forward Kevin Yates said of the Mako: "I wear Mitre's Mako boot because it's one of the only ones on the market built specifically to suit the foot shape of rugby players - it can be hard to get a good combination of support and comfort, but with the Mako they've got it all covered."

As official supplier to the Federazione Italiana Rugby (FIR) for its club and Six Nations matches,Mitre has launched another new rugby product. The Mitre Reload Training Ball is a rounded end rugby training aid and is popular at all levels of the game. It can be used as a warm up and skills developer in team training sessions, whilst also being suitable for players to hone skills on their own. The Reload is excellent for spin and distance passing, catching practice, line out throwing, scrum work and many other routines. It is also good for developing and perfecting drop kick techniques.

Mitre’s Max 460 is a professional quality match ball, which uses the G-Spin groove technology. It has a new ‘valve-in-seam’ system designed to ensure better weighting and balance, and therefore improved flight stability. Check out the attractive new graphic (above).
