New strategy for the Russian market starting in 2008
Ispo Russia is being suspended and replaced by a national follow-up event in agreement with the Russian trade fair partner Sport Communication Group (SCG). The new event will be supported by the ispo Group as a trade fair partner.
Russia remains an important market with its own inherent patterns. There will be direct support on site in Munich at request of Russian retailers.
Following its successful premiere in September 2005, ispo Russia was able to provide decisive support in the development of the Russian market. It has developed into an important B2B information and order platform for Russia.
At the upcoming event, which will take place for the fifth time under the name ispo Russia in the Crocus Expo Center in Moscow from September 5 to 7, 2007, national and international brands will again present their innovations and product developments from the segments Outdoor, Board Sports, Team Sports, Sportswear, Running and Fitness.
A suspension of ispo Russia has become necessary due to the special conditions of the Russian market. The high concentration of importers and vertical distributors as well as the respective order mechanisms and timing are harming the implementation of a strict trade fair concept. The reuptake of ispo Russia consequently depends on the further development and restructuring of the industry.
The most recent events of the ispo Group in Munich recorded an increase of Russian sporting goods retailers, who wanted to obtain an overview of international sporting goods and clothing. Direct support will be provided from Munich meeting the request of many Russian retailers for improved information.
