Great outdoors. That’s ispo
Outdoor is synonymous with year-round sports – and lifestyle – and what better time to be involved in the outdoor market than now, when embracing the environment is a key global issue. This growing sector has a natural home at ispo, taking place in Munich’s prestigious, highly accessible and green-friendly exhibition centre – what’s more the vibrant city offers a host of outdoor activities itself, all within easy reach.
It’s a new look at ispo Winter 08 that’s all about an expanded Outdoor Ispo community and direct access to all that’s happening. All four Outdoor halls can now be reached directly via the dedicated East Entrance where the Outdoor Lounge provides the perfect place to refuel, work and catch up on emails or with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Access to hall B6 is via a small bridge on the right side of the East Entrance and a specially designed, canopied outdoor bridge in the atrium connects halls A5 and B5.
At Winter ispo 08 outdoor segments cover no less than four halls and as soon as you arrive at the East Entrance, you will be immersed in an atmospheric outdoor sports environment, setting the theme before you enter Hall A6. This is the location of, among others, the Scandinavian Village (Scandinavian Outdoor Group), as well as activity stages for the snow ice & rock summit, Boulder Cup, and Fashion Shows. You will also find the designated areas for the 50+ target group (Best Ager), young and upcoming entrepreneurs (Greenhouse), and technical innovations (Wearable Technologies).
The following hall, A5, is the hall for footwear and hardware manufacturers and the “Backcountry Village”. A specially designed and canopied Outdoor Bridge in the atrium connects halls A5 and B5 and the tent display is also located there.
Hall B5 is a cross-over hall with exhibitors from the alpine sports, backcountry, Nordic and touring segments. Due to its proximity to Ski spo (beginning in hall B4) this hall represents a connection between classic Outdoor and alpine and Nordic ski sports.
Hall B6 hosts a number of large outdoor textile companies whose innovations and product developments provide the foundation for the high-tech apparel displayed throughout the outshow. Across a small bridge you return to the East entrance.

GRANGERS to make rebranding impact at ispo
Proofing and aftercare experts Granger's has a completely new look for the brand and its products at ispo (B5 / 505). The re-branding combines a strong, visually striking identity with a coordinated approach designed to set the brand apart at retail. "Everything we're doing is designed to simplify choice at the point of sale," says Brand Director Don Gladstone. "We've worked hard to develop the new identity, packaging and POS in conjunction with our key retail partners and the feedback is consistently very positive". _The new visual treatment also directly relates to the brand's core value of environmental responsibility, says Gladstone. "The key message behind the re-branding is sustainability. Independent tests continue to confirm that Granger's products work better for longer. Extending the life of your outdoor gear means you don't need to replace it so soon, thus reducing consumption of the earth's resources."
