From January 27th to 30th, ispo will once again confirm its international success as the ultimate forum for those in the business of sport. As expected, the winter show will include a strong focus on ski and board – with the latest hardware and apparel innovations all being showcased.

However, the sports performance side of ispo is once again proving it will be the trade show force to be reckoned with – embracing everything from traditional and new brands and their developments through to the important way forward that is wearable technologies. Head for Performance ispo and Innovations ispo before going on to explore the rest of the show.

In total visitors can expect 16 halls of packed exhibition space and this winter they will find the structured communities even easier to navigate. Dedicated show entrances make it easier for a specialist to go directly to their area of interest which will save time and allow the chance to really explore the halls in a particular sector. But the new layout also makes it simple to take in some of the new features and exhibitors that add further potential and vibrancy to the market.

Getting there is as cheap and easy as any UK trip these days and you can pick up a good deal using ispo’s new online travel service – once there, ispo provides regular low cost shuttles between the showground and airport (free for ispocard holders) and entrance tickets give free public transport use. There is even a Lufthansa check-in desk on site!

Everything you need to know about the show can be found on the visitor section of ispo’s website, www.ispo.com, which has just been relaunched with an easy to navigate new design. A reflection of the strenght of the show’s awareness of communication as a vital business tool. This is can further be seen through the various networking forums and retail summits – and don’t forget to visit and make the most of the international business lounge at the North Entrance where the UK will have its own area.

Highlights and hotspots

Ski ispo offers a complete industry overview, the chance to see all the ranges and identify new trends and retail opportunities at an early stage. This core segment of the show will again feature the snow, ice and rock summit (new in 07) with presentations and discussions taking place each day from 12 – 1 in Hall A6.

This year, ispo also supports the World Snowboard Day on December 23. Check out the second ever Boardsports Awards as well as exciting new area Metropolis which highlights the fusion between boardsports, street, art and music. Quiksilver are hosting DAS RAIL at Haus der Kunst as part of ispo.

Performance sports opportunity is definitely on fast forward and ispo has been identifying this at an early stage. Running, triathlon, fitness, teamsports and rackets are now collectively exhibited as a hot spot for all athletic equipment, footwear, functional apparel, and accessories. A specialized triathlon village additionally offers everything for the biking and swimming disciplines. Spend some time at the Runner’s World Awards too.

To reduce the gap between less-known brands and retailers, ispo has established several newcomer platforms integrated into the individual tradeshow segments. Head for Hall A3 if you don’t want to miss out, here you will find BrandNew, the world’s largest start-up competition for the sporting goods industry; NewBiz with former BrandNew participants on their way to success and ispo Newcomers.

Enjoy the show!
