Johnson and Reydon team up
Reydon Sports have teamed up with former soccer international David Johnson in a bid to discover the next generation of England football stars.
Utilising their Precision Training sports brand, Reydon are to partner Johnson with the establishment of his new Football Academy targetting youngsters between the age of five and 11.
Johnson will be able to draw upon all his experience of graduating through the Manchester United Academy and his professional career, which included spells with Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town and Bury, as well as appearing for England B and representing Jamaica.
"There is not enough being done in football at grass roots level and hopefully this can change that," said Johnson.
"If we can get children out in the fresh air, enjoying themselves and getting good exercise that is fantastic and if, during that process, we uncover some stars of the future that will be a major bonus.
"The link up with Precision Training is perfect. Their equipment is used throughout the professional game and the children will benefit hugely from their involvement."
Reydon Sports Managing Director Nigel Carter added: "We are delighted to be partnering David with his Soccer Academy.
"It is absolutely vital that we all play an active role in supporting grass roots football. As Britain's leading supplier of specialist sports training aids, we enable children to have the same access to exactly the same products used by our leading professional football footballers and sportsmen."
Precision Training are the official technical sponsors and kit manufacturers for Notts County, and also have official partnership relationships with Nottinghamshire CCC, national ladies hockey champions Leicester and Football League Championship clubs Coventry City, Leicester City and Preston North End.
