Dunlop AEROGEL 4DTM Technology
Dunlop has developed a revolutionary new technology to perfectly complement and enhance AEROGELTM for their 2009 range of rackets. The new 4D BRAIDEDTM technology is constructed with four directional braiding of superlight S-glass fibres.
Dunlop AEROGEL 4DTM rackets now provide four times the benefit of standard carbon rackets as the one layer of 4D BRAIDEDTM material has the equivalent properties to four layers of standard carbon laid up in different orientations. Therefore by using one layer only, 4D is also softer and less stiff than the equivalent of four layers of carbon.
The 4D BRAIDEDTM technology helps minimize the torsional twist and optimize control through its positioning at the five and seven o'clock positions on the racket. At the three and nine o'clock positions one layer of 4D BRAIDEDTM cloth also provides torsional stability.
Dunlop frames are specifically engineered to be softer in the hitting zone to ensure that players are able to get great touch and feel upon contact with the ball. This perfectly compliments the racket benefits provided by the technologies of AEROGEL 4DTM and 4D BRAIDEDTM.
