Lotto's Landi passes away

31 July, 2008

Lotto's Marketing and Communications Director Alberto Landi has passed away after a sudden illness at the age of just 36. Graduated in Business Economics from Venice University, Alberto began his professional career at the European Union Consumer General Management offices in Brussels.

Following this, he went into the Sports Division of the Safilo group to later join, in 1999 at the age of 28, the Lotto group as Area Manager for the Italian market. Two years on he was asked to run the Strategic Planning Office reporting directly to the General Management, also assuming responsibility for the development of the Lotto brand non-core products.

At the end of 2004, in pursuing a swift and promising career, he was appointed Marketing & Communication Director, a position which he has performed brilliantly over these years of immense growth and development of the Group, both in Italy and abroad.

Andrea Tomat, President of Lotto Sport Italia, said: "The passing of Alberto is a loss which is impossible to describe, an immeasurable sadness for all those who have had the privilege of knowing him. His intelligence, professionalism, innate kindness and sympathetic behavior have left an indelible memory in the hearts of everyone. The many projects we worked on together will remain in my memory forever, his compassionate availability and a personal relationship based on immense trust and friendship that I will miss forever."
