Zoggs goes recycled
Zoggs, the UK's leading swimming goggle, equipment and swimwear manufacturer, has announced that from January 2009 all of its goggles will be packaged in 90 per cent recycled materials and will be 100 per cent recyclable. As one of the world's leading swimwear and equipment brands, this demonstrates the company's on-going commitment to reducing its impact on the environment.
This year the brand has completed an audit with all suppliers to review current materials and further reduce the brand's carbon foot print. It has been working with an industry leader in sustainable packaging, and from January 2009 all goggles will be packed in a new 90 per cent recycled PET made with up to 45 per cent post consumer waste. This new material more than exceeds the toughest environmental laws anywhere in the world, and has the added advantage of being 100 per cent recyclable via any plastic recycling facility. Zoggs will also reduce the cubic foot print of each individual pack by over 10 per cent which will not only reduce material usage but also fuel consumption through shipping and handling.
This project is part of an overall commitment by the brand to reduce its impact on the environment and comes after a move in January to 70 per cent recycled card on all Zoggs packaging. Additionally, Zoggs' Spring/Summer 2009 - and all future brochures - will be printed on 100 per cent recycled paper.
