UK Gear has won the contract to supply training shoes to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

UK Gear training shoes were discovered by US soldiers during tours of Iraq and Afghanistan, where they became a much sought after item as UK and US troops traded belongings.  Famous for being designed and developed with The British Army Physical Training Corps, UK Gear's training shoes were recognized for their high performance, durability and comfort in difficult conditions.

As troops returned home to America, the reputation of UK Gear's tough shoes grew and they soon became available at several US Navy, Marine Corps and Army Exchange locations, as well online at http://www.ukgear.com/.

In an exciting month for Coventry-based UK Gear, they have also announced two new training shoes for extreme climates, developed in tandem with the British Army.

The PT-03 DESERT survived final wear testing in the extreme heat of Afghanistan while the PT-03 WINTER was put through its paces in Norway. This ensured that they're built to survive some of the world's most extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions.

The PT-03 DESERT is a sandproof running shoe, specifically designed to endure the world's most hot and arid environments. Its optimal operating temperature range is between 25 and 50 degrees centigrade.

The PT-03 WINTER is a waterproof running shoe, designed to endure the world's coldest and most inclement weather conditions. Its optimal operating temperature range is between -20 and +10 degrees centigrade.

These unique shoes have now earned the right to bear the famous British Army 'crossed swords' insignia.
