Hello!
Shortly before writing this, I attended the Outdoor Trade Show at Stoneleigh, and it's left me feeling really rather positive for our industry. It's a well-organised show, with a raft of excellent product, all put together to create a feeling not unlike a bustling market.
There wasn't a lot that left visitors gasping, but what there was, was a solid array of product with improvements, tweaks, refinements. It wasn't a show for being flash, it was a show to say to the industry's buyers that the exhibiting companies are here to stay, regardless of the economic turmoil happening everywhere. That they're here to support the retailer in a mutually beneficial relationship, symbiotic if you like, in which everybody wins from manufacturer through to high street customer.
Enough of my rambling. I enjoyed OTS hugely, and you can read the show review in this issue on pages 16 and 18. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the show too, so if you attended and you agree or disagree with me, drop me an email to jonbruford@yahoo.co.uk and share your thoughts.
