Ron Hill celebrates 70th birthday
September 25th saw celebrations for Dr Ron Hill, MBE's 70th birthday. Celebrations for the occasion were held at a special 5K birthday road race, in Littleborough, with over 600 runners as well as family, friends and Hilly staff all taking part.
Made even more special was the fact that Ron had recently reached his goal of racing in 100 different foreign countries before his 70th birthday. His most recent races were Panama and the Faroe Islands.
The former European and Commonwealth Marathon champion, with a personal best of 2.09.28, set in 1970, hasn't missed a day's running December 1964.
