Sporting Goods Intelligence Europe, working together with the British sporting goods industry association (FSPA), has just released the last volume of the first comprehensive study on the sporting goods market in 18 countries throughout Southern Europe.

Consisting of more than 1,700 pages of charts and text, the research is based on more than 500 interviews and on months of desk research. Like the reports already published by SGI EUROPE on Eastern Europe and Northern Europe, this extensive study includes both quantitative and qualitative data on 120 different topics - the same for each country.

This system allows the reader to make useful comparisons among different countries for benchmarking and other purposes. It helps brand owners to determine weak spots in certain countries, improving market penetration where the potential exists. It allows national distributors and agents to find new foreign brands. It is also geared towards retailers who are looking to enter other European markets or to gain market share in them.

Part of a larger ongoing analysis on all aspects of the sporting goods market for all of Western Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France will be next), the research on Southern Europe is broken down into four volumes that analyze the following countries:
