NIKE pioneer swimwear technology
Chlorine resistant swimwear is a given in the world of serious swimming, but chlorine resistant swimwear that has a soft feel and is comfortable against the skin is not.
That will now change, as Nike Swim is the first sports brand to introduce a fabric which is chlorine resistant, has a soft feel and yet still provides ultimate shape retention. A revolutionary stretch fibre ‘Dow XLA™’ that is based on the innovative Dow XLA™ Technology, is the world’s first olefin-based stretch fibre that is inherently resistant to harsh chemicals, extreme heat and ultra-violet light. In addition to this when combined with polyamide, the new Dow XLA™ fibre enables swimwear to retain its shape and softness. Nike Swim is the first sports brand to introduce this remarkable Dow XLA™ technology for Fall/Winter 2006 in its collection to be available from August 2006 at selected retailers.
