It's been what you might call an 'indoor sports' winter so far. No weather for tennis - when it's been dry here, it's been way too windy. With many days in sub-zero temperatures, it's been too cold for football, for casual players at least. Of course, rugby players won't care about that; a bit of cold never stopped them. The ground's been too damned icy for running, and the roads too treacherous for cycling.

I think the most exercise I've had in the last month has been my remote-control-pressing finger.

It's exciting times here at SGB Towers though. We've got two new contributors on board, with Robin Barwick our new Contributing Editor, and Zöe Foster now contributing regularly. This month, Robin has visited Gunn & Moore's facilities and returned very impressed indeed, while Zöe has cast her eye across the new swimwear available for 2009 and written a round-up starting on page 18.

Good times, good times. It's all aimed towards making SGB - Sports and Outdoor the best read we can make it; with that in mind, comments are always appreciated, so email me or give me a call. The opinion of independent retailers in the UK on the magazine really do count - after all, we put it together for you.
