Growth for Craghoppers
Last month saw Craghoppers open six new in-store concessions giving the outdoor clothing brand representation in a total of 38 stores across the UK.
“From a standing start two years ago, when we took the decision to build this side of the business, concessions now make up 24% of Craghoppers turnover,” commented Lloyd Huges, head of retail.
By the end of 2006 the company plans to have 80 concessions operational with a further increase to 120 by February 2007. Jim McNamara, managing director, Craghoppers adds, “We have seen a phenomenal growth in the UK business over the last few months in both the concessions and wholesale business. In the six weeks leading up to Christmas, like for like sales were up by 35%, a huge achievement in a difficult market.”
