ICON Sign Preferred Partner Agreement with Asics in the UK and strengthen management team
ICON Health & Fitness Ltd UK and ASICS UK Ltd are now working together to develop the awareness and distribution of fitness products as well as technical clothing and footwear. In the recently signed agreement the two companies will co-promote and market products to promote the brands and ranges via several platforms, including all major trade shows, local and National press, and in-store.
Richard Newton, newly appointed Retail Sales and Marketing Manager for ICON Health & Fitness Ltd UK commented: “The preferred partner agreement has come about because of the work the two companies have been doing over the last two years. The correlation between technical training equipment and technical running apparel and footwear is evident, and ICON is pleased to have a great partner like ASICS on board.”
Asics were highlighted as a key partner for ICON to work with due to their commitment to product research and development, the appreciation of customer needs and the great product range offered. Says Newton, “This agreement cements our relationship together, and will see ICON provide Asics technical representatives with equipment for use when on running tours and at key retail trade shows.The opportunities for joint marketing and promotion will also help raise the respective profiles with key retailers and customers alike.”
Icon Health and Fitness Ltd recently appointed UK Managing Director Mark Richard to the position of Chief Operating Officer for Europe, Justin Smith, the National Sales Manager, now takes over his former role. Richard Newton moves from National Key Accounts Manager to the role of Retail Sales and Marketing Manager, and Stuart Palmer comes in as Specialist Sales Executive to manage the key retail market.
