Umbro gets results despite England World Cup display
Umbro has produced record underlying profits following the 2006 Football World Cup, despite the national team's disappointing performance. The England kit manufacturer saw sales of replica shirts and other licensed apparel rise by more than 120% during the first half of the year, compared to a 31% rise in 2004. The national red "away" kit was Umbro's best-seller and helped profits soar by 55%, rom £11.4m to £17.7m.
