Berghaus has announced a number of management changes which see new appointments to both UK and international roles and some internal moves to support the strategic international direction of the brand and deliver continued successful UK growth.

Perhaps one of the most notable changes is that product director, Lewis Grundy, has made the decision to leave Berghaus. In a press statement issued on behalf of Berghaus, it read, "Lewis has made an invaluable contribution to the business and will be missed. A keen climber, Lewis has demonstrated the Berghaus ethos during his time with the company and will be able to dedicate more time to his passion for the outdoors following his departure in November. Lewis will remain in his current role until then, continuing to drive current initiatives forward."

Other changes to the staffing the announcement that Lisa Marriner will be moving to take up the position of head of customer service. This role will report directly to Michael Lockett and provide a consistent approach with customer service teams for the UK and international markets being united under one umbrella.

Sarah Wilson has been appointed as head of marketing, making her appointment permanent after an eight month period in post as maternity cover.

Previous head of marketing, Caroline Smith, will return part-time to Berghaus after her maternity leave to take up a new role as executive assistant, reporting directly to brand president Richard Cotter.

Completing a recruitment process announced earlier in the year Michael Lockett has been appointed as operations director, a role which will be pivotal as the brand expands globally.

Gerhard Dobrunz, previously responsible for sales management in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will now be taking on the management of all European territories as European business manager. Dobrunz will continue to report to International business director, Pascal Perrigaud.

Berghaus Brand President Richard Cotter said of the new appointments and Lewis’ departure: "We’re welcoming some new faces to Berghaus and the strength of our team has been demonstrated by the internal promotions we have secured.

"Michael Lockett’s arrival is central to our future growth and success and we have searched extensively for the right candidate. He has a fantastic range of experience of the outdoors sector, processes involved and the industry in general and we’re looking forward to developing the brand with him on board.

"We’re also saying a goodbye to Lewis and we will be hugely sorry to see him go. We will miss his commitment to Berghaus and we wish him well in his future endeavours.

"The corporate changes we’ve seen and implemented this year will help us enhance our ability to meet the needs of a global market and will help us consolidate our market leading position in the UK outdoors industry."
