Wetstuff
When training, racing and boat chartering specialist Wetstuff was looking for a solution to its personalised drinking bottle dilemma. Gloucestershire based Howard Plastics provided the answer.
Keeping hydrated is vital when sailing, but with up to ten people working together aboard a yacht in close quarters, labelling and identifying individual bottles is not an easy task.
Using Howard Plastic’s range of bottles with ten different coloured tops, Wetstuff can now allocate a unique colour to each crew member minimising mix-ups and maximising hygiene.
Wetstuff are so pleased with the concept that they are going to use the containers as part of the company’s own marketing campaign, ‘message in a bottle’. The brightly coloured Wetstuff branded bottles are to be sent out to prospective corporate clients and event organisers.
Said Howard Plastics managing director David Howard: “It’s often the simplest ideas that prove to be the most successful – and the Wetstuff order is testament to that. Because we manufacture and screen print bottles at our own factory, it’s easy for us to handle low-quantity runs and personalise the containers to customer requirements. I’m delighted that Wetstuff are pleased with the end result.”
Commented John Wetton, director of Wetstuff: “The bottles are a fantastic idea, and I believe quite unique to the boating industry. I have issued them to my Fastnet Campaign team whilst they are racing offshore, who have since told me that the different coloured caps are a huge help in identifying the right bottle. I am also getting excellent feedback from the few companies I have sent the bottles to. At this rate, I will need a lot more to keep up with the demand.” SGB UK thinks the product could work for a number of team sports.
