North Face runner takes secondPublished: 22 August, 2008The indomitable British endurance runner Elizabeth, "Lizzy", Hawker racked up another impressive result in July by taking second place in the Swiss Alpine Marathon in Davos, Switzerland. 32-year old Lizzie - who is sponsored by The North Face - currently holds the Swiss Alpine Marathon women's record time of 6:30:12, which she set in 2006. This year, Lizzy was only just returning to running following a pelvic stress fracture, but persisted to finish the race and take second with a final time of 7:11:05.
Kippax named Squash Championships ambassadorPublished: 22 August, 2008Rising British squash star Sarah Kippax has been appointed as an official ambassador for The Hi-Tec World Squash Championships - Manchester 2008. Kippax, 25, who is from Chester and trains twice a week at the National Squash Centre in Manchester will help to promote the event to a younger audience. The partnership will also run into 2009 with Kippax's ambassadorial role also encompassing the 2009 British National Squash Championships, to be held at the same venue next February.
