The Buying Show for Q4 2009 will be held on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 March and, once again, promises to be a lively and interactive meeting between Members and Suppliers. A drive to invite potential new Members proved successful, with representatives from independent stores from across the country booked to attend presentations on both days of the show.

INTERSPORT has undertaken a proactive campaign to invite more independent retailers to join the buying group and enjoy the benefits enjoyed by its existing Membership. The exercise has generated a promising level of interest and enquiries from across the UK.

The market is becoming increasingly challenging and competitive so the advantages of becoming part of the world's leading sports retail brand are numerous. There's so much more to Membership of INTERSPORT than increased profits and margins gained through the enormous buying power of the group.

New Suppliers on Board

Following a successful showcase presence at the Q3 2009 Show, two new suppliers joined the INTERSPORT portfolio on March 1st - compression technology performance apparel brands, Skins and Under Armour. Two more market-leading suppliers are about to be announced once all the paperwork has been finalised.

David Ling, General Manager of Skins, feels that their unique product is an ideal fit for the sports authentic INTERSPORT membership "Gradient compression clothing has recently seen significant business growth but, arguably, many retailers still don't fully understand the benefits behind the technology,‘ he commented. "We have done an excellent job in generating brand and consumer awareness and now, by educating INTERSPORT store personnel in the specialist technology, we are creating a great opportunity to collectively distance the independent retailer from the multiples."
