NB hosts Parliamentary reception
On Wednesday 3rd June, New Balance, the global performance athletic brand, held a celebratory reception at the Houses of Parliament to mark their 28th year of manufacturing in the UK at the company's factory in Flimby, Cumbria. The event was attended by over 90 Ministers, MPs, and peers, together with the country's leading retailers.
A welcome by Jon Ram was followed by an address from Tony Cunningham MP for Workington, in which he congratulated New Balance for the brand's firm and steadfast commitment to domestic manufacturing in his own Workington constituency. The highlight of the event followed when Tony was presented with the 14 millionth pair of white, red and blue shoes, manufactured in Britain, by Jonathan Ram, New Balance's Managing Director and Andy Okolowicz, the manager of New Balance's Flimby factory.
