INTERSPORT recruit as growth targeted
In line with this strategy INTERSPORT has announced two key appointments. Lindsay Anderson joins the company as a senior apparel selector reporting directly to Barry Mellis, General Manager. Her role will be to capitalise on the joint buying capabilities of the member stores as a way of increasing their profitability and overall competitiveness.
Cara Delaney has joined INTERSPORT from CitiGroup New York where she worked as a member of the team responsible for resource management, liaising with Citi managers and external vendors, and project support operations with special responsibility for budgets and timescales. Cara was previously with BMW, in the West Midlands, as Communications Officer.
Her role at INTERSPORT will be to work closely with INTERSPORT suppliers, member stores and AIS personnel. Carla will also look to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Commenting on the recruitment, Barry Mellis said: "INTERSPORT has regained its appetite for growth and our recruitment strategy stands as the cornerstone of our ambitions for expansion."
He added: "We have taken a more aggressive stance in the market, where we aim to continue building our own distinctive presence, as we mark out INTERSPORT's blueprint for the future."
