Schwarzer signs for Mitre
British sports brand Mitre has signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Fulham FC and Australia goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.
As part of the deal, Mitre will provide Schwarzer with bespoke Mitre gloves and boots, both featuring his name, until 2011. Schwarzer worked closely with Mitre designers to ensure the gloves and boots incorporate the correct blend of comfort, aesthetics and technology.
The Australian number one was named Fulham's player of the year for the 2008-2009 season after signing on with The Cottagers in the summer of 2008. To add to his accolades he was also named as the 2009 Australian Player of the Year after completing seven World Cup qualifiers without conceding a goal.
