National Skills Academy for Outdoor launches
Following a launch event mid-September, the National Skills Academy for the Outdoors is now open for business in Penrith, Cumbria.
This follows the success of the National Skills Academy for Sport and Active Leisure's outdoor pilot in the North West. Since the pilot began in January 2009, 76 individuals have benefited from outdoor skills training with an additional 400 individuals expected to benefit from funding towards their essential training in the sector through the Skills Academy. The region will now also act as the central contact point for national outdoor employers and organisations.
