Since its launch in 2007, the OPROshield has grown from strength to strength. Initially the range comprised 3 models, the BRONZE, SILVER & GOLD, though this was soon increased to include the ORTHO and JUNIOR models and is now stocked by the majority of sports stores within the independent sector.
The OPROcustom was added in April of this year, enabling players to purchase a custom fit mouthguard from a sports retailer for the first time. An impression kit is purchased which allows individuals to take their own dental impressions and then return it to the OPRO laboratory for a hand-made OPRO to be manufactured. OPRO now offer a range of mouthguards suitable for all levels of sport, from British Lions to mini-rugby players, so there's something for everyone - and more importantly, every pocket.
Following further R&D, OPRO are about to launch a new flagship product, the PLATINUM OPROshield featuring the best attributes of the GOLD range but adding two important features, multiple protection zones and guaranteed inter jaw thickness:
Multiple Protection Zones; The four distinct zones each play a different role. The OPROfins for ultimate fit and retention, frontal zones for external impact, concussion zones for blows through the lower jaw and a skeletal framework to draw them all together.
Guaranteed Inter Jaw Thickness; the unique fitting OPROhandle allows ease of fitting and prevents you from biting through or over thinning the fitting surface of the mouthguard, thus giving a guaranteed minimum thickness and optimal concussion protection.
OPRO has supplied mouthguards to all 12 Guinness Premiership clubs for many years and the OPRO logo is regularly seen on the front of players' mouthguards during live TV games all over the world.
