INTERSPORT's Q2 2010 show ‘a success'
INTERSPORT hosted its ‘Q2 2010' show against a background of growing confidence among members and suppliers. The two-day show, which registered a record attendance of nearly 90 per cent of the membership, was the official launch for the all-important seasonal preview of the latest products covering tennis, cricket, fitness and the chance to pick up on immediate Christmas business.
The show also proved the ideal setting for the INTERSPORT Award Ceremony, held at a special dinner in the evening, where nominations were put forward and prizes won for a range of categories:
- Best Overall Supplier: Nike
- Best Hardware Supplier: Unicorn
- Best Footwear Supplier: Asics
- Best Textile Supplier: adidas
- Best Up & Coming Brand: Under Armour
- Best Sales Team & Customer Service: Grays/Gilbert
And two special additional awards for:
Best at Understanding INTERSPORT - ‘Get It' Award: Nike
Most Dedicated Sales Person - ‘Hero/Heroine' Award: Phil Mitchell from Umbro.
All awards were voted for by the membership who responded enthusiastically with a very high voting tally.
Commenting on the success of the show, Barry Mellis, INTERSPORT's General Manager, observed: "I felt that the show reflected a new mood of self-assurance and self-belief amongst our members and suppliers. There was a feeling of buoyancy at our event that was almost palpable and this new mood of optimism was certainly responsible, I believe, for the high level of business that was transacted over the two days and very probably for the great fun we all enjoyed in the evening."
Elsewhere, Sportswise has renewed its relationship with INTERSPORT; Rugbystore.co.uk, who recently recruited Fraser Patterson from Canterbury to work with the company's joint proprietors Paul Graham and Ken Oliver, has renewed their successful and longstanding membership with the INTERSPORT Buying Group.
