No more from Nomis
At the time of going to print, Sporting Goods Business is seeking confirmation that football boot manufacturer Nomis has gone out of business.
Rumours of the demise of Nomis have been circulating within the trade, and website www.footy-boots.com has reported that the Swiss-based company “has gone under”. The phone line at the Nomis headquarters in Zug, Switzerland is unavailable, and we could not get through to Nomis sales offices in Switzerland or for the UK, in Darwen, Lancashire, although we understand that sales of Nomis product is continuing in certain European markets for the time being.
Nomis was founded by former adidas executive Simon Skirrow, who was previously part of the team that created the acclaimed Predator boot. Footy-boots.com has reported Skirrow as saying about Nomis; “My major regret is disappointment for the staff, many of whom put a great deal of time and effort following the dream”.
