Mizuno says its new Wave Ignitus is the most advanced and technical football boot it has ever made
Published:
10 February, 2010

Mizuno has set out its stall for the 2010 FIFA World Cup with the introduction of its new Wave Ignitus football boot.

The Wave Ignitus is made from what Mizuno promises to be the highest-grade kangaroo leather, and thanks to the brand’s Dynamotion Fit Engineering, Mizuno claims its latest creation to be the best-fitting power boot on the market.

The Wave Ignitus is fitted with a 360° Bio Panel around the toes of the upper, which is designed to assist ball control, while Mizuno says the Speed Panel inserted on the inside of the boots should aid precision to dead ball strikes by taking spin off the ball and thereby increasing ball speed by up to 10%.

Mizuno’s Wave technology in the heel should give the boot added stability, while a new stud configuration is designed to provide excellent traction on firm ground.

“I have to be comfortable and confident in front of goal,” says Roque Santa Cruz, Mizuno’s global ambassador and striker for Manchester City and Paraguay, who has helped in the development of the Wave Ignitus. “When I choose my boot, it needs to be able to cope with the pace of the game, handle my sharp movements and give me total control in the box. Mizuno understands this better than anyone.”

The Wave Ignitus is scheduled for retail delivery in June.
