Skins sponsors solo cyclist
Technical apparel company Skins is sponsoring a 51-year-old solo cyclist on his challenge to complete the Tour de France route, which he aims to finish on 22nd July.
Quentin Field-Boden, a self-employed cycling coach and part time radiographer from Northumberland, is riding the 3,651km route independently and aims to cover up to 240km daily. Set to become one of the oldest riders to complete the infamous route, Field-Boden has been training for a year.
Skins has supplied Field-Boden with its latest C400 cycle compression clothing, designed to accelerate blood flow around the body, thereby increasing oxygen supply to working muscles. He is also sleeping in Skins’ RY400 recovery tops and tights with a view to breaking down lactic acid and relieving aching limbs. Skins is an official supplier to several Tour teams including HTC Columbia, Rabobank and Milram.
