EPoS systems to deliver benefits in early stages of economic recovery
Retailers need to take advantage of electronic point of sale (EPoS) systems to benefit from the early stages of the economic recovery, according to e-commerce systems specialist Cybertill.
Cybertill has recently installed an EPoS system at Leeds bicycle retailer Woodrup Cycles, a 50-year-old, family-run business
Woodrup Cycles’ EPoS system will be used to help manage component stock levels to streamline its bike-building service, as well as tracking stock of ready-made bikes, clothes and accessories.
Woodrup Cycles will also use the Cybertill system to allow it to trade through its website, which it has earmarked as an avenue for growing sales.
Cybertill said the Woodrup Cycles installation highlights a number of trends it has seen in the bike retail market, as well as the wider retail environment, since the credit crunch began.
Cybertill executive chairman Ian Tomlinson said: “Many people are delaying purchasing new bikes and instead servicing their bikes and upgrading component parts.
“Economic growth at the present is in its very early stages and there is still a need for retailers to be able to restructure operations by effectively managing elements such as stockholding, which has a positive impact on cash flow.”
