Buying group appoints Tom Foley as general manager to replace Barry Mellis
ISRA founder Tom Foley has been appointed as the new general manager of buying group Intersport UK.
Foley founded ISRA, the Irish sports buying group in 2006, and will start under the guidance of outgoing general manager Barry Mellis, who is moving to become Asics UK and Ireland managing director, after the Intersport Q3 show on January 7, 2011. Foley will fully take up his role on January 31, 2011.
Foley will be responsible for further developing the Intersport brand and membership throughout the UK and Ireland.
Foley said: "I am excited to be joining the largest sports retail group in the world and look forward very much to working with the Intersport members throughout the UK and Ireland. The Intersport brand has huge credibility and is the true sporting retail channel for the sports user worldwide.
