Intersport predicting Q3 2011 show will be ‘most successful’ ever; focus areas for Q3 and show detailed
Outgoing Intersport general manager Barry Mellis said next month’s Q3 2011 Intersport show will be the buying group’s ‘most successful’.
The Q3 2011 show takes place at Cranmore Park, Solihull on January 5-6, 2011. Future Intersport shows will take place in March, June and September 2011 (Q4 2011, Q1 2012 and Q2 2012 shows respectively).
Intersport said 98 per cent of members have accepted their invitation to attend, breaking all previous records. In addition, eight perspective members will also attend.
Focus areas for Intersport during Q3 and at the show include: rugby, ahead of the next World Cup in 2011; Olympic sports, with an Adidas Olympics package as the London 2012 Olympic Games get nearer; netball, through the Back to Netball campaign in conjunction with England Netball and Asics; and school sports, with a Back to School initiative featuring exclusive Intersport offers. There will also be an exclusive Adidas Predator package.
Some 50 suppliers are expected to attend the Q3 2011 show, including Adidas and Nike, and there will be numerous showcases.
The social event planned for the evening of January 5 will be co-hosted by Adidas, with an Olympic theme and guest appearances from Olympic athletes. After-dinner entertainment will be a ‘Question of Olympic Sport’ quiz.
Mellis said: “We are confident that this show will prove to be one of the most successful we have staged, and there is a real momentum with a growing membership and strong relationships with the brands.
