ASI clarifies X situation
Ardblair Sports Importers has moved to reassure the trade that it remains a distributor of X-Socks and X-Bionic for all products, both for existing and new clients
Ardblair Sports Importers (ASI) has said it is still the distributor of X-Socks and X-Bionic, covering all products. It will continue to service all existing and potential accounts.
Last month, Big Bear Sports announced it was to start distributing X-Bionic and X-Socks products into the cycling market, as well as the winter sports market. ASI said this had caused confusion in the channel, and it wanted to clarify its position.
A spokesperson for ASI said: “A sector-specific distributor has recently been appointed primarily for the bike market, which has a different distribution chain, and for some ski accounts that they deal with. They will not be selling into the outdoor or running markets at all or to any of ASI’s customers.
“The X-Socks and X-Bionic ranges have grown so quickly and are now so broad that in many countries different distributers handle different parts of the range. As we are not bike specialists at ASI we have agreed to separate the bike out so that we can concentrate on our main markets.”
