Timberland and Prima Solutions amongst those to sign up for distance challenge in aid of CARE

Eighteen teams have signed up for the Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge so far, taking place on May 21 in aid of CARE, a global aid and development organization.

The Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge, supported by Footwear Today, published by SGB Outdoor parent company Datateam Business Media, takes place in Cannock Chase, Staffordshire and will see teams cover a marathon distance by biking forest tracks, canoeing on a river and a trail challenge on foot. There is also a one hour bonus stage for the extra competitive.

Timberland, Joules Clothing, Supergroup, Prima Solutions, Sheactive and ITE Moda are amongst those to have already entered teams for the challenge.

CARE aims to raise £60,000 from the challenge to support its poverty-fighting work in over 70 countries.

CARE challenge manager Neil Munro said: “CARE’s work strikes a chord with the fashion industry, as many of our projects involve assisting garment workers, tailors and clothes retailers in poor communities.

“For example, microfinance projects which enable entrepreneurs such as a tailor in Benin or shoemaker in Indonesia to start or grow a small business or CARE’s ‘Living Blue’ cooperative for fabric dyers in Bangladesh, which ploughs profits into healthcare, savings, insurance and home repairs for indigo producers.

“The Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge is a wonderful opportunity for the fashion industry to take a day to make a difference.”
