Samurai Sportswear signs three-year deal to become official kit supplier to third division outfit

Samurai Sportswear signed a deal to become official kit supplier to League Two outfit Accrington Stanley.

The three-year deal sees Accrington Stanley as the first professional football club to be wearing bespoke kit, using state of the art fabrics, utilising the latest designs with dynamic fit, Samurai said.

The deal is effective from April 30, and the new kit will be worn by the first team for the final home game against Barnet.

Accrington Stanley retail operations manager Lewis Carol said: “Having been through the tender process last year we identified Samurai Sportswear as a new up-and-coming teamwear supplier that understood our needs clearly and quickly.

“We felt excited by the early designs and from day one Samurai stood out from the crowd in delivering us a fully bespoke kit for next season that fused tradition and heritage with the latest cutting edge technology. We are very excited at what we have produced for our supported. This is no ordinary kit launch.”

Accrington Stanley are currently 11th in Npower League Two, three points off the play-off places, but with at least one game in hand on all the teams above them.

Emma Flack, marketing manager at Samurai, said: “Accrington Stanley are a club steeped in history with a clear vision for the future and after listening to their aspirations and knowing the core values of the club, we felt compelled to be part of the journey.”
