The Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) has named Puma’s Johan Adamsson as its fourth new vice president.
Adamsson joins Luca Businaro from Assosport, Rory Macmillan of Nike and Claudine Reynes of French sports and leisure federation FIFAS as a FESI vice president.
The four have been appointed by Frank Dassler, FESI’s new president. Adamsson is head of sports marketing for teamsport at Puma.
Dassler said “I am happy and contented on this late appointment. I am sure that Johan Adamsson will bring a new, re-energised momentum to the European Federation as I will be pushing towards this end.”
FESI represents the interests of around 1,800 sporting goods manufacturers through its 11 national sporting goods industry federations and its directly affiliated member companies. Three quarters of FESI's membership is made up of small and medium sized enterprises.
In the UK, FESI is represented through the Federation of Sports and Play Associations (FSPA).
FESI also includes some of the most renowned global sporting goods brands such as adidas and Puma from Germany and Diadora and Lotto from Italy.
Dassler added: “Together with my other vice presidents and all of my colleagues we are looking forward build FESI into an even stronger federation representing the entire sports sector.”
