JD focuses on staff safety after riots
Retailer issues statement after being caught up in London riots
JD Sports Fashion has said its immediate priority is ensuring the safety of staff following days of riots across London and in other parts of the UK that have seen a number of the company's stores looted.
The JD Sports Fashion statement reads: “As has been well publicised, a number of JD stores have been affected by the disturbances in London and other parts of the UK over the past few days.
“It is too early to assess the full extent of the damage, but our main priority is to ensure the safety of our staff. We will continue to focus all our efforts on minimising the impact to our customers.”
Footage of looters ransacking JD shops has been caught on camera and can be seen online.
