Country manager to become general manager with immediate effect
New Balance UK and Ireland country manager Mark Ward has been given the title of general manager for the UK and Ireland to represent his growing remit.
The promotion is a reflection of the additional responsibility for UK and Ireland subsidiary operations he has taken on in addition to his role as country manager, leading to the creation of the general manager post.
Ward and the UK and Ireland team will assume additional sales and trade marketing responsibility for the Warrior Brand within these markets and continue to report to Jon Ram, New Balance’s EMEA managing director.
Ward has previously worked for Fila and Adidas. He is listed on business networking site LinkedIn as having been in the post since April.
Ram said: “I am delighted to be able to announce Mark’s new role which is the result of hard work, commitment and dedication. He has demonstrated strong leadership and, since he joined New Balance, has led his team to consistent year-on-year growth.”
