Spalding announces new UK partner
Spalding, the basketball equipment provider, has announced the appointment of a new UK partner
Paul Sherratt and his team at Solutions for Sport, the current UK Sales and Marketing partners for Uhlsport and McDavid, brings a wealth of sports trade experience to Spalding and, for the first time, will be presenting a full portfolio of basketball products under one umbrella. The ranges will consist of basketballs, backboards, portables, teamwear, bags and accessories.
Commenting on the deal Sherratt said “Spalding is a superb compliment to our existing brand portfolio as McDavid already has a strong sports medical and protective baselayer basketball range and many of our partner Uhlsport football teamwear dealers also have a demand for basketball Teamwear.”
With over 125 years heritage in the sport, Spalding is the official game ball and backboard of the world’s leading basketball league – the NBA – as well as the partner and official supplier to numerous top teams and national federations across the world.
The existing team of Uhlsport sales agents will begin carrying Spalding from the end of 2011 with first deliveries being available from January 1st 2012.
