The Football Safety Officers Association gives sports PR company Smoking Gun the go ahead
The Football Safety Officers Association (FSOA), has appointed Manchester PR and digital agency Smoking Gun to plan and deliver its marcomms as it enters a new era
The Association is made up of safety officers from professional and semi professional football clubs in England and Wales and plays a vital role in the smooth running of the nations favourite sport.
The aim is to give it a greater share of voice in key sporting media, communicate its newly established commercial offer to relevant football industry suppliers and to support this by developing a fresh website.
John Newsham, FSOA Chair, comments: “The time was right to bring in some expert support to assist with meeting the Association’s goals and Smoking Gun came highly recommended to us. We feel their proven track record in this area coupled with their down to earth approach is the prefect fit for us. The FSOA delivers vital behind the scenes services that help Clubs run safe matchday operations, overseas trips and is an essential link agency between other official bodies.”
Rick Guttridge (pictured), managing director at the Manchester PR agency added:
“The FSOA has an interesting story to tell and there is an image issue to overcome as health and safety officers are often maligned as ‘no’ men. We will be communicating the essential role they play in modern football and the hidden benefits their work delivers which ranges from fan’s match day experiences to increased revenues from well structured concourse catering.”
