ODLO, the functional sports underwear specialist, has announced the launch of its new evolution greentec collection - the first and only seamless underwear made from 100% recycled and recyclable polyester
The brand is committed to environmentally friendly production and is taking another major step towards sustainability with this new collection for winter 2012/13.
With the new evolution greentec range, ODLO has developed a unique and innovative type of underwear. It meets the highest standards of functionality and is specially designed and produced with a green thread. The green thread stands for an outstanding level of sustainability and environmental compatibility.
The launch of evolution greentec sees function, high-tech material and sustainability come together. For the raw material, ODLO uses waste which is produced in the manufacture of polyester yarn. This waste yarn is of very high grade, ensuring that, when recycled, it produces a durable end product.
The collection is completely recyclable and uses 29% less water in its production than standard evolution products. In addition, the CO˛ emissions for polyester per kilo of material is only half the equivalent for cotton, and 63% less than that for wool. The greentec packaging consists entirely of 100% recycled cardboard.
